Rep. Traficant Charged With BS Bribery Charges

Isnt it interesting that the POS Homeland Insecurity Director Dual citizen of Israel, Michael "JERKOFF" Chertoff whose last name means DEVIL, was the point man to put Honorable REP James Traficant in jail for years what amounted to a JAYWALKING charge. Yet this same POS CHERTOFF gave his fellow NewJerseyite Bob "THE TORCH" TOrchelli who really committed the crimes that far exceeded anything that James ever did, just happened to get a pass by this fuck. Lets not even get into ex-Rep RostenCOWskis slap on the wrist for his two GUILTY pleas. ... leid=18228

Every day you sit in the Federal Criminal prisons, the larger your REP and props you will get grow large.

Hope you get out sooner then later sir.

Greetings Paul: Thanks for the music, I am enjoying my CDs-especially the
song Cuz Of Me; fabulous song.

Despite several attempts to contact Michael Piper I never got a reply to my
request for the current address for writing James Traficant.

Today, I found time to get caught up reading AFP. The June 5, 2006 issue has a Piper article mentioning the Traficant persecution. At the end of the
article he provides Traficant's current address.

I checked your site and it still has the old Pennsylvania address, the
Minnesota address is below if you want to update your site.

New address as of June 27th 2006

James A. Traficant Jr.

Register # 31213-060

Federal Medical Center

P.M.B. 4000

Rochester, Minnesota 55903-4000

That's it for now. Take care.

.c The Associated Press

CLEVELAND (AP) - A federal grand jury on Friday indicted Rep. James A.
Traficant Jr. on charges of bribery, racketeering and other counts.

The 10-count, 41-page indictment alleges that Traficant accepted ``things of
value'' for political influence while serving as a congressman representing
the Youngstown area in northeastern Ohio.

The conservative Democrat had long predicted that he would be indicted.

The U.S. Justice Department has been probing corruption in eastern Ohio's
Mahoning Valley for several years. Since the first indictments in December
1997, more than 70 people have been convicted, including a judge, a
prosecutor, a sheriff and a Traficant aide, Charles O'Nesti, who has since

Traficant, who turns 60 next week, was first elected to Congress in 1984.
Despite the expected indictment, he won re-election to a ninth term in
November by winning 50 percent of the vote in a three-way race.

The government's probe is believed to have examined whether Traficant
broke tax laws or House rules by accepting free use of a Chevrolet Corvette
and the gift of an Avanti luxury car, as well as the price Traficant paid
for construction of a pole barn on a farm that he once owned and where he
still keeps horses.

Traficant has said he is prepared to defend himself in court, although he is
not a lawyer. He did the same thing in 1983 when he was acquitted of
accepting mob bribes while Mahoning County sheriff. He lost a U.S. Tax
Court case in 1987 stemming from the same issues.

Since announcing he was a probe target, Traficant has been on a personal
crusade against the U.S. Justice Department. An angry Traficant took to the

House floor in March 2000 and vowed to ``fight like a junkyard dog'' against
any federal charge him.

Anticipating the announcement Friday, Traficant told reporters Friday
morning near Youngstown that ``I'm as frightened as anyone can be. I'm
going to say this to the U.S. attorneys. You'd best defeat me, because
if I beat you, you'll be working in Mingo Junction.'' That is a small
town in eastern Ohio.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig Morford, who has been the lead prosecutor in
the Youngstown-area corruption cases, would not comment on the

House ethics rules bar members or ``anyone with whom the member has a
professional or legal relationship'' from benefiting directly from money
representatives use to pay expenses.

Some subpoenaed rent records reportedly concerned Traficant's district
office, which is in a building owned by Kimberly Sinclair. Her husband,
attorney R. Allen Sinclair, was hired onto Traficant's staff the same month
his wife bought the building.

He made repeated corruption accusations against the FBI, former U.S.
Attorney Janet Reno and federal prosecutors in Ohio. He also introduced
legislation to establish an independent federal agency to investigate
the Justice Department.

``FBI agents in the northern district of Ohio have been on the payroll
of the mob,'' Traficant said on the House floor in June. ``They have
been bankrolled by the mob.''

Traficant also has claimed that an FBI informant, in writing, has said the
FBI asked him to commit murder.

The congressman has long been a popular figure in the blue-collar area he

Traficant, a former University of Pittsburgh quarterback, seems to thrive on
controversy and unabashedly promotes Youngstown, a city known for being a
battleground for rival Cleveland and Pittsburgh mob families.

The town also has struggled for decades to recover from the sudden closing
of old steel mills - long the underpinning of the area's economy - in the
late 1970s.

Traficant's unruly gray hair and affinity for polyester or plaid clothing
have made one of the most recognizable figures on Capitol Hill. When
speaking on the House floor, he usually at some point invokes
``Beam me up!'' - a line borrowed from TV's ``Star Trek'' - to show
his disgust at something in government he finds particularly outrageous.
The tax code is a frequent target.

By Linda Kennedy, Attorney (pending Appeal), Va

The information you are about to read is information that
Congressman Traficant has had, which would help prove that there is a
Department of Justice conspiracy against him, however, the Congressman would
not release the information, as he was trying to protect Mr. James Leigh and
his family.
Both Mr. James Leigh, the operative in this story, and I, have
had to convince Congressman Traficant to make this information public.
I was just given permission by the Congressman this morning to utilize this
story. Please publicize this far and wide including, but not limited to
the biased media.

James Leigh is a very courageous government, under-cover
operative, whose work single handedly lead to the United States issuing 11
indictments and making 4 convictions of high ranking foreign officials in China
and Korea.
The sting operation involved several unlawful immigration scams (unlawful
human smuggling in exchange for a large fee) into the United States. The
price received by the governments involved was $50,000 per head
amounting to about $500,000,000. Mr. Leigh's assignment was named "Operation

Squeezeplay" and the story can be found in several articles including one at: ... 5619.shtml. Mr.
Leigh has also been involved in several other highly publicized covert
operations involving national security, which can be found in the newspapers.

Mr. Leigh had given Congressman Traficant an affidavit and Congressman
Traficant was told to use it to help prove that there is indeed a
Department of Justice conspiracy against Congressman Traficant to expel him
from Congress and to lock him up for life. Mr. Leigh states on
7/27/02 that:

"I provided an affidavit to Traficant, just this week and
it proves that there was indeed a plan to go after him.
I live under security concerns and asked Traficant not
to use it unless it would really make a difference. I
think he is holding back to protect my security but now he
should be urged to bring the evidence forward and demand
an inquiry and delay of proceedings. I'll back him and

To really understand what is happening here, as Mr. Leigh was
ready to close in on the entire illegal operation of the Chinese and
Korean governments, Bill Clinton and Janet Reno suddenly put a stop to
any further undercover work involving Operation Squeezeplay, and ordered the
sting operation to cease and desist. Obviously, Mr. Leigh was very
upset as he had risked his life, and was extremely close to busting this
entire phony immigration scheme wide open. Even with the desist order, the
United States was still able to convict four illegal smugglers out of the
eleven indictments issued in Operation Squeezeplay.

Later, James Leigh requested that the United States Department
of Justice provide him the protection they had promised he and his family in
exchange for his risky undercover assignments he had accomplished on
behalf of our country. In spite of their agreement to do so, The Department of
Justice just ignored him and let Mr. Leigh and his family fend for
themselves even though they had severely exposed themselves to increased danger
for the United State's benefit. Thwarted at every turn, James Leigh
then went to Congressman Traficant for assistance. From Mr. Leigh's own email
to me dated 7/26/02, he states that:

"Traficant came out in the press demanding a Congressional
hearing into Operation Squeezeplay and why Reno/Clinton
shut it down. A the same time, I was meeting with Justice
officials from [the] U.S. discussing what they would do to provide the
security as promised to me and my family. They mentioned Traficant and
said 'Don't count on Traficant, we're going to get him
no matter what we have to do.' They further asked me to help them on
that matter."

This discussion between Mr. Leigh and the Justice Department
occurred before any indictment of Congressman Traficant was ever issued.
Do you see this friends? Isn't this exactly what Traficant has been saying
all along? Hasn't he been saying that Reno and the Justice Department have
set this lynching up in advance? Did you hear Congresswoman S.T. Jones
from Ohio, during expulsion hearings telling Congress to just ignore all the
evidence and claims of judicial corruption and expel the Congressman
anyway? Did you hear the prosecutor say that they had no direct evidence of
Traficant's wrongdoing because Traficant was too good to have allowed for
evidence? Did you hear jurors saying that they could tell that Judge Wells had
marching orders? Did you hear another juror describe how he was
unlawfully, and deceptively removed from the case with only one week left, and
that he was a pro-Traficant juror? Did you hear a juror say, that after being
allowed to hear all the evidence, he thinks Traficant is innocent?

Friends, did you see during the Congressional Expulsion vote
that Traficant actually WON the oral motion to stay all expulsion
proceedings until an investigation into these claims of corruption could be
made, but Congressman Hefley insisted that in spite of the victory, that a
written vote be taken? Hefley obviously knew that NOBODY in Congress
would have the guts to write his or her name to stay the proceedings under such
threat of retaliation. Not even those Congressmen who raised the motion to
stay the proceedings were willing to put it in writing? Can anyone else
put two and two together here? Can you see that the Congressional majority
who wanted to stay the proceedings were so afraid of the Justice Department
that they would not even write down their names in fear of being next? Do
we now see who is running our country? Anyone else have any doubt why these
rogue courts of ours, can freely ignore the law and the facts when
their own Justice Department has put such fear into our cowardly Congress,
the alleged judicial overseer, that not a one of them was willing to write
his or her name next to Traficant's to stay the motion to expel?

Finally, on July 25, 2002, Mr. Leigh writes:
"Traficant is being noble by withholding my affidavit that
can save his ass. He is protecting me and my family's
security. Urge him to use the Canadian former US. Justice operatives
information. It proves there was a conspiracy within the
Justice Department to nail him. I have urged him to go ahead . . ."

And on July 26, 2002, Mr. Leigh states that the Justice Department

". . . basically left my family and I out in the cold to fend for
ourselves [concerned about being exposed]. . . I'm willing to
take that chance. Traficant went to bat for me when I
needed him, so I guess its time for me to do the same."

It sounds like Traficant is a lot more noble than the biased
media would have one think. We need to get this story out to everyone
including the biased media fast. Traficant's sentencing is tomorrow, Tuesday,
July 30, 2002, and the public needs to know that there is yet more
credible proof of a conspiracy by Judge Wells, and the Justice Department aimed at
getting Traficant, along with a cowering Congress too fearful to stop it,
before this sentencing.

Thanks to Americanlibertiesassociation for helping break this
story, but also for keeping it confidential as lives could be at stake in
this matter.

Janet Reno Accused of Treason ....08.09.00
US Representative James Traficant accused Attorney General Janet Reno of treason, sexual improprieties and ties to the mob Monday night on a Fox television news show. Supporters of Traficant say that the Congressman has been targeted by the Clinton White House and the FBI because of his criticism of federal handling of controversies such as the Vince Foster death, the crash of TWA 800 and the Waco cover-up. Traficant said the FBI learned about some of the damaging evidence on Reno during a 1993 background check prior to her appointment to attorney general.
Traficant is accusing Reno of "treason" for her failure to appoint a special counsel to look into charges that China stole sensitive nuclear weapons data from the United States as well as a range of other Clinton administration scandals. Traficant said he has "sworn affidavits" from unidentified sources claiming Reno has also frequented call girls and has engaged in substance abuse. Traficant claims that he has sources that have "videotaped evidence" of sexual improprieties as well as the testimony "of five police officers" who have "stopped Reno for substance abuse." Traficant said Reno's alleged improprieties occurred while she was a Dade County (Miami, Fla.) state prosecutor and municipal judge.
When asked if Traficant had considered that Reno may sue him, he replied, "Go ahead, Ms. Reno, sue me. ...Let's get this into a trial. Let's get it all out in the open." Traficant also made the bold (but true) accusation that the "entire Justice Department" has concealed sensitive and potentially damaging information about alleged illegalities within the Clinton administration and, specifically, the Justice Department itself.
Traficant said that he has, "received several affidavits, and here's what these affidavits allege...that Janet Reno was first appointed to Dade County state attorney, they call them state attorneys there, as a favor and a thank-you to the mob." Traficant also claims he has proof that, "Janet Reno had a relationship with a call girl who was associated with organized crime figures. And they have videotapes of this woman. Now hear me. Also you had five police officers stop Janet Reno for substance abuse, namely DUI - under the influence - willing to testify, never testified. Now, here's the point I'm making. Listen very carefully. I will be submitting FOIA requests. Because I believe Janet Reno in her failure to appoint an independent counsel, specifically on the threatening issue, the national security issue, China - she did so because of her blackmailability. I want to know why, and how long it took for the FBI to investigate, if they gave this information to the Senate, if the Senate knew about compromises they had from outside the government. They knew about her past history of alcoholism, her association with call girls. And they did interview several of the affiants that have in fact given me these affidavits."
HANNITY: You made some very severe allegations. You say you have affidavits. Who are these affidavits from?
TRAFICANT: These affiants wish to remain anonymous, but they will testify in an open court or a congressional hearing of appropriate nature.
HANNITY: You are saying she is associated, and that people will testify with evidence, that she was connected to the mob?
TRAFICANT: Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. And because of the fact - and I'm looking into this - I'm not throwing any darts at the president at this point or anybody. I want to know if the president got that information. I want to know the timespan from when the FBI went down and interviewed these affiants on these particular allegations, and how long it took for her to be confirmed.
Janet Reno was one of the exceptions. They waved that 72-hour period from the hearing to the confirmation. And in a lovefest she became the attorney general, and I'm accusing the attorney general of treason right here.
Well, I certainly missed something good by not having cable! Damn. It's about time that someone finally took a chance, got some evidence together, and accused Janet Reno of the corruptness she's involved in to be so protective of the Clinton Administration. Janet Reno has done nothing but OBSTRUCT justice since she took the position, she should be in jail, ideally with Bill, Hillary, Monica, and Al. Scum.

VAN SUSTEREN: First, my exclusive interview with convicted Ohio congressman
James Traficant, now facing possible expulsion in Congress after refusing to go

How do you describe yourself?

TRAFICANT: I'm the son of a truck driver. I really am. And I would have never run for
Congress if it weren't for the fact I probably would got killed if I'd have ran again for
another term as sheriff of Mahoning County. Mahoning County's been controlled by
organized crime for years, but they pay taxes to Cleveland and Pittsburgh. But they
had an FBI and IRS office in Youngstown area for 50 years and never made an arrest
until I ran for sheriff.

And it was one of the most interesting races in the history of the nation because I used
Mob money to beat the hell out of the Mob. And it was a sensational trial in 1983, with
a confession and everything. And as you know, I was the only pro se defendant in
the history of the United States that defeated the Justice Department in a RICO case.
And that's part of this trial, Greta, very much a part of this trial, very much a part of this
political targeting that took place here. And I know that sounds self-serving, but it's a

VAN SUSTEREN: Expulsion in Congress has only happened four times in U.S. history.
Only one other member of Congress has been expelled because of official corruption.
That was back in 1980. The others were expelled for being disloyal during the Civil
War. House rules permit any member of Congress to go to the floor and offer a
privileged resolution calling for immediate expulsion of a lawmaker. Removing Traficant
would take a two thirds vote.

More from the congressman himself in just a moment, but first, [Fox Correspondent]
Steve Brown. He's going to take us inside the Traficant trial.

TRAFICANT: I've never been one to back out.

STEVE BROWN, FOX CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Facing prison time and possible
expulsion from Congress, James Traficant says he will fight on. In his federal
corruption trial, Traficant was accused of bribery, tax evasion, even forcing his staff
to work on his horse farm. And the jury found Traficant guilty of all 10 counts.

TRAFICANT: I don't believe I was tried by a jury of my peers. I think peers have an
understanding of a person's character.

BROWN: Traficant acted as his own attorney and claimed the entire case was a
government vendetta against him. The judge would not allow Traficant to make that
argument in court.

UNIDENTIFIED NEWSCASTER: Traficant was taken to Cleveland federal district court...

BROWN: The tactic did work in 1983. Traficant beat federal corruption charges then,
convincing a jury that the FBI tricked him into signing a confession. Since then,
Traficant says, government agencies have been out to get him. But back in his district,
Traficant still enjoys voter support.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He's the kind of congressman that I like.

BROWN: Much of Traficant's popularity is traced back to the early 1980s, when the
Youngstown steel mills were closing and a lot of people were losing their jobs.

DOUG BOUSLOUGH, YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO: Back when the steel mills closed, he was
the sheriff. And one of the responsibilities at that time was to foreclose on housing.
You know, it got so ugly, he decided "I'm not foreclosing on these people anymore."

BROWN: But in the halls of Congress, Traficant is far from loved by his fellow
Democrats. Traficant angered many in his party when he voted for Denny Hastert, a
Republican, for House Speaker. On the day of Traficant's conviction, House
Democratic leader Dick Gephardt called for Traficant to resign.

TRAFICANT: I've never been a quitter. I don't think I'll quit now.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Mr. Gephardt said you should.

BROWN (on camera) While Traficant works on an appeal to his conviction, the House
of Representatives Ethics Committee has begun an investigation of its own. And
ultimately, if two thirds of the House votes for his ouster, Traficant could be kicked out
of Congress, unable to appeal that decision.

Steve Brown, Fox News.

VAN SUSTEREN: Steve, thanks.

Now to my exclusive interview with convicted congressman James Traficant of Ohio.
I traveled to the congressman's home state over the weekend and I asked him why he
began representing himself in court back in 1983, when he's not a lawyer.

TRAFICANT: No, I'm not a lawyer.

VAN SUSTEREN: But you won.

TRAFICANT: I have a couple master's degrees.

TRAFICANT: Yes, but the bottom line was they brought a false confession in. When
they found out that this schmuck was going to represent himself...

VAN SUSTEREN: Meaning you?

TRAFICANT: Yes -- they brought in a confession. And the forensic scientist proved
that this document was fraudulent.

VAN SUSTEREN: Was the confession yours?

TRAFICANT: Supposedly mine. But when it all came out, it became my evidence, and I
used it as a defense exhibit. And I would not be sitting here were it not for this

Now, in this trial, I had nine tapes that were not allowed to be played. I had nine
witnesses that were subject to perjury under oath, testifying to a judge without the
jury present. They were not allowed to testify. And I had no FBI agent that took a
stand against me, no IRS agent that took the stand against me. They had 1,000
documents without one fingerprint. Until this day -- I want the audience to listen -- I
never opened the evidence boxes that were sent to me by the Justice Department
because I knew they had no case.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right, well, let's -- let's go through the trial. You...

TRAFICANT: Let's go.

VAN SUSTEREN: OK. All right, what were you charged with?

TRAFICANT: I was charged with everything. I think -- raping Mother Teresa, I think,
was a part of this thing. I was charged with taking bribes, with doing favors, quid pro
quo, accepting kickbacks, a number of things.

VAN SUSTEREN: Having -- having staff members work on your horse farm?

TRAFICANT: Yes. And some of the staff members did on their own time, voluntarily.
And if that's enough to put me in jail on a RICO charge, go ahead. The bottom line was I
never denied that, but you know...

VAN SUSTEREN: You never denied what? You never...

TRAFICANT: Members of my staff wanted to be near me. One of them testified that he
used it as a health spa until his allergy got bad. Now, the bottom line is a congressional
staffer is required to put in 30 hours a week full-time. All of my staff put in all their
time. My staff liked me.

But I had some incidents that occurred where some of my staff were upset with some
of my hirings. They got vindictive, and there was a lot of animosity that took place.
Amidst this time, there was a lot of turmoil and investigation going on in Youngstown. I
found out that in 1996, when the investigation really started, the focus of their
investigation was Jim Traficant.

VAN SUSTEREN: Why did they want Jim Traficant?

TRAFICANT: I'm the only one that's ever beaten them. They had to clean the slate,
number one. Number two, I supplied a concurrent -- House concurrent resolution
calling for an investigation of that Chinese money that come from the general of the red
Chinese army to the Democrat National Committee. Now, the Democrats wanted
nothing to do with it. The Republicans, wanting Most Favored Nation permanent trade
status for China, sort of set it aside.

And Greta, I believe in my heart that we have set America at stake and America is in
danger of a nation who is taking $120 billion a year net surplus in trade surplus buying
intercontinental ballistic missiles, nuclear submarines, and has declared -- the CIA has
told members of Congress that China considers America an enemy.

VAN SUSTEREN: So you say it was Democratically politically motivated...

TRAFICANT: I think it was.

VAN SUSTEREN: ... when they started the investigation of you in '96?

TRAFICANT: Yes. I think it was a combination of beating them. They had to clean that
record up, number one. Number two, the China thing, calling Janet Reno a traitor.
Now, remember this, the judge that tried me was appointed by President Clinton. They
had to be scrutinized and approved and the background check performed by the
Justice Department, headed by U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno. Janet Reno, in my
opinion -- look, I'm not on the House floor. She's running for governor of Florida. She's
a traitor to the nation.

VAN SUSTEREN: Well, then -- wait. But your prosecutor...

TRAFICANT: She betrayed America.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right, if your -- if the motive is this was political, this was
Democratic, how do you explain the fact that you were prosecuted by a Republican
Justice Department? How does that play into it, in your mind?

TRAFICANT: Well, this whole ordeal started underneath the Reno investigation.

VAN SUSTEREN: Why would Reno hate you, just over -- in your...

TRAFICANT: No, it wasn't that. It was a combination of local, national, very outspoken,
and I touched on issues that people didn't want to hear. They didn't want to hear about
Pan Am 103. They didn't want to hear about Ruby Ridge. They didn't want to hear
about Waco, where they could have arrested Kirshner [sic] any day out jogging and
killed 80-some people.

Here's what's happened, in my opinion. We have an America at stake. People are
afraid of their government. A federal judge can only be removed one way, Greta.
They die, they resign or the FBI, IRS or Treasury Department develops a case on them.
And right now, I don't believe an American, especially a politically targeted American,
can get a fair trial. And I believe what's happening is this fear factor in America is
dangerous. Why do we fear our own government?

VAN SUSTEREN: Did you...

TRAFICANT: We're the government!

VAN SUSTEREN: More of the exclusive interview with convicted congressman James
Traficant when we come back.

VAN SUSTEREN: Back with more of my exclusive interview with convicted Ohio
congressman James Traficant. Does the congressman fear the government?

TRAFICANT: Not at all. I took them on, and they can good to hell. And I'm going to take
my own appeal all the way. I'm not afraid to go to jail. I think it's time for somebody to
tell them to go to hell. This is our country, not theirs. And they run it like it's theirs.

And let me say this. I don't want members of Congress to get mad at me. I have great
respect for members of Congress. But all you need to do is have your name in the
paper with an IRS investigation attached to it or an FBI inquiry, and you lose an
election. And we've got congressmen and congresswomen, in my opinion, that are
afraid. They're afraid to take on these institutions. The executive branch has become
too powerful, and people have got to take their government back.

And if they do not -- mark what I tell you -- and I'm going to make this statement on your
show. I predict that China, with what we've allowed China to get away with and the
money they're taking out of our economy, may some day -- maybe not your children or
grandchildren, but for sure, the grandchildren are going to be visited by China.

And I believe we have set a dangerous pattern in America, where we are born into a
limited partnership with the IRS. Their behavior modification program tell us what we
can and cannot do. I think it's time to abolish the 16th Amendment, get rid of the IRS, go
with a flat 15 percent national sales tax, exempt everybody up to the poverty level.

TRAFICANT: Not at all. I took them on, and they can good to hell. And I'm going to take

And look, Greta, let's have some freedom in America. America is not free. We fear
our government. We have a right to fear our government. And when the IRS testified
on my legislation that if we do not have the fear factor, we won't collect taxes -- are
these voluntary taxes, Greta?

VAN SUSTEREN: Do you think having a lawyer -- you represent yourself...

TRAFICANT: Hell, no! I won the case! Here's what happened...

VAN SUSTEREN: You won the first case.

TRAFICANT: I won this case, too, because jurors went in, and it was 6-6 on the first
vote. Then the jurors come out and decided that I was guilty because they didn't like
the way I disrespected the judge. Now, look, you could fine me, you could put me in jail
for contempt, but the jurors couldn't even identify and explain what a RICO charge

And RICO has become so prostituted, you can get a housewife charged for RICO for
not making three square meals for her kids today. It's gone! It's out of hand. I don't
believe the courts are fair. I believe the courts in America and the system of American
jurisprudence has been prostituted.

VAN SUSTEREN: Why would this judge -- I mean, do you think the judge is the reason,
then, that you were convicted?

TRAFICANT: I think that the judge was well-liked by the jury. They didn't like the fact
that -- they didn't realize when they left that room that these witnesses were being
deposed as if they were in a civil trial.

VAN SUSTEREN: Do you think that...

TRAFICANT: I never heard of anything like this!

VAN SUSTEREN: Do you think that this judge did this because she believed that this is
the way the evidence should be under the rules, or do you think she did it to get
Congressman Traficant?

TRAFICANT: No, I think this judge, like most judges, favored the prosecution. I believe
most federal judges don't want to get on the wrong side of a prosecutor, especially
when they know that there's an American that they really want, because here's why.
If you testify for Jim Traficant or you're a campaign contributor to Jim Traficant, you're
subject to being audited by the IRS.

I'm an incumbent of nine terms. I had my last campaign, in the primary -- my two
opponents raised more money than me. I couldn't raise any money. People are afraid
to give me money because their name appears on my federal election report and the
IRS is out to come and take a look at you. So here's what I'm saying to the IRS. Look,
you better beat me on appeal, or there will be no IRS And I'm not afraid of the IRS.
They can go to hell. I'm not afraid of the FBI. While they've been messing around
playing footsies, we basically had 9/11.

Now, tell me this. And I really want to know this. And Fox deserves a lot of credit.
Let's take a look at one thing. How did we learn about the invasion of Kuwait? On
television. How did we learn about the fall of the Berlin Wall? On television. How did
we learn about the collapse of the Soviet Union? On television. What the hell do we
need a CIA for? And what is the CIA? The CIA is the FBI counterpart that does
international work. The FBI does domestic work.

Our borders are wide open. You have 300,000 illegal immigrants coming across the
border every day. Now we have a resolution brought up by Loretta Sanchez when I
was the only Democrat devoted for a new election out there because I felt that illegal
immigrants might have affected precedent, the election of a federal official who
weren't even eligible electors, who were illegal aliens.

My God, what is the country coming to? The border's wide open, and we're guarding
the Israeli borders, the Mideast borders. We're in Afghanistan. We're in Somalia.
We're in Pakistan. And our borders are wide open. Someone's going to bring across
our border, Greta, the components of a nuclear weapon and literally launch one
against America. That's how wide open this country is!

VAN SUSTEREN: Congressman -- and I'm not supposed to call you that, but --
Congressman, you brought...

TRAFICANT: Here's the toilet tissue.

VAN SUSTEREN: Good. Why'd you bring that?

TRAFICANT: You can't get a print on it. It's very porous. You couldn't get a print on it.

VAN SUSTEREN: What do you mean? You mean a fingerprint?

TRAFICANT: No, but you could lift a fingerprint off a dead body.

VAN SUSTEREN: So why did you break the toilet paper?

TRAFICANT: Number one, this is currency.

TRAFICANT: It's a little more porous, isn't it? A little bit better to get a fingerprint on.
This is an envelope, a little denser, better to get a finger print on. This is a manila
envelope, much more dense, easier to get a finger print on. This is a plastic bag that'll
hold water, absolutely capable of getting a fingerprint.

This is the FBI analyst's report, that on 972 documents of Jim Traficant submitted by the
lab for testing, not one of Jim Traficant's prints was found on any of their evidence.
They had no physical evidence. And the woman who I had taped, who said, "Jim, if I
wasn't a principal in this radio station that they investigate and know what happened,
with the paper trail I seen on you, if I was on the jury, I'd find you guilty."

VAN SUSTEREN: But Congressman...

TRAFICANT: There's no evidence!

VAN SUSTEREN: But Congressman, they actually had -- they had witnesses come
into the courtroom, take the witness stand, take an oath and say you accepted

VAN SUSTEREN: ... that you accepted cash.

TRAFICANT: ... you're a prosecutor, aren't you?

VAN SUSTEREN: No. I was a defense attorney, sir.

TRAFICANT: OK. Let me just say this to you and say it to you right out. You have a
congressman that is highly political, highly visible, very critical of the federal
government, the FBI and the IRS, with legislation to create a three-member panel to
investigate Ruby Ridge and Waco and the injustices of FBI. Now, no wiretaps, no
bugs, no physical evidence, no FBI or IRS agent take the stand against me.

They brought a 37-year veteran in from Philadelphia who said he didn't even meet with
any of the investigators, just added what they told him onto my '98, '99 returns. The
only FBI agent they brought was one-year rookie who brought the money and said
there's no prints on anything.

VAN SUSTEREN: So it boils down to...

TRAFICANT: Where's the evidence?

VAN SUSTEREN: More with Congressman James Traficant tomorrow.

Exclusive! Embattled Ohio Congressman James Traficant (Part 2 of 3)

ANNOUNCER: Tonight On the Record: Is he a madman or a maverick?
Renegade Ohio congressman James Traficant takes on the legal system
and defends himself in part 2 of this Fox News exclusive. How will he handle
his critics in Congress? And does he have any chance of ever winning
another election again?,2933,51074,00.html

VAN SUSTEREN: I say that teasing you, you understand that.

TRAFICANT: Now you know, you just said earlier that you might have thought
I impugned your dignity, so I'm going to take your remarks as being favorable,

VAN SUSTEREN: OK. Fair enough.

TRAFICANT: But let me say -- but let me say this. Looking back at Congress
-- Congress has to take the country back. The executive branch controls
America, not even the presidency, the Justice Department, the IRS, the
Treasury Department, manifest so much power that we in America fear our

Now, through the Ethics Committee process, what can be done is this. They
could focus on every element of this case, bring every witness they want and
let them all say anything they want. And I'm available and I'm open, and the
country can look and take a see -- talk a look at this matter, Greta. I think
this is what it's about. I think we fear our country. I believe our nation
is at stake. I believe Congress has become damned near background music in a
doctor's office. Nobody wants the FBI checking them out. No one wants the
IRS snooping around.

And you know, I really feel bad. You know, I changed the burden of proof in a
civil tax case. I now required, through my legislation, that they can't seize
your home without a warrant. You can now sue the IRS up to $1 million because
of my legislation. And it wouldn't have happened unless there was a great
American by the name of Bill Archer from Texas. And he was a former head,
chairman, of the Ways and Means Committee of Congress. He retired.

Had they made Bill Archer the treasury secretary under President George
Bush, I believe America would be free today. But he put my language in it.
Let me tell you what that meant to the American people. Wage attachments
dropped from 3.1 million to 500,000. Property liens dropped from 688,000 to
160,000. And seizures of American-owned homes dropped from 10,067 to
51 in 50 states, when the IRS had to prove their case.

The IRS has been preying on us, feasting on us. And when they testified
before Congress, they said, "If you take away the element of fear," Greta,
"that we will lose America." Fear! An agency of the government saying fear.
Who does the IRS work for? Those bastards work for me. I'm not afraid of
them. The FBI, they work for me. I'm investigating them right now. And
until I go to jail, if that happens, or if Congress expels me, I'm going to
fight like a junkyard dog in the face of a hurricane because that's the
way I'm made.

VAN SUSTEREN: I'll have more with Congressman Traficant tomorrow [on
Wednesday, April 24].

Representative Traficant Reports On The Bankruptcy Of The United States

United States Congressional Record, March 1, 1993 VOL. 33, page H-1303 The Speaker - Rep. James Traficant, Jr. (Ohio) addressing the House.

Mr. Speaker, we are here now in chapter 11. . . Members of Congress are official trustees presiding over the greatest reorganization of any Bankrupt entity in world history, the U.S. Government. We are setting forth hopefully, a blueprint for our future. There are some who say it is a coroner's report that will lead to our demise.

It is an established fact that the United States Federal Government has been dissolved by the Emergency Banking Act, March 9, 1933, 48 Stat. 1, Public Law 89-719; Declared by President Roosevelt, being bankrupt and insolvent. H. J. R. 192, 73rd. Congress in session June 5, 1933 - Joint Resolution To Suspend The Gold Standard and Abrogate The Gold Clause dissolved the Sovereign Authority of the United States and the offical capacities of all United States Government Offices, Officers and Departments and is futher evidence that the United States Federal Government exists today in name only.

The receivers of the United States Bankruptcy are the International Bankers, via the United Nations, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. All United States Offices, Officials, and Departments are now operating within a defacto status in name only under Emergency War Powers. With the Constitutional Republican form of Government now dissolved, the receivers of the Bankruptcy have adopted a new form of government for the United States. This new form of government is known as a Democracy, being an established Socialist/Communist order under a new governor for America. This act was instituted and established by transferring and/or placing the Office of the Secretary of Treasury to that of the Governor of the International Monetary Fund. Public Law 94-564, page 8, Section H. R. 13955 reads in part:"The U.S. Secretary of Treasury receives no compensation for representing the United States?"

Gold and silver were such a powerful money during the founding of the United States of America, that the founding fathers declared that only gold and silver coins can be "money" in America. Since gold and silver coinage were heavy and inconvenient for a lot of transactions, they were stored in banks and a claim check was issued as a money substitute. People traded their coupons as money, or "currency." Currency is not money, but a money substitute. Redeemable currency must promise to pay a dallor equivalent in gold or silver money. Federal Reserve Notes (FRN's) made no such promises, and are not "money." A Federal Reserve Note is a debt obligation of the federal United States government, not "money." The federal United States government and the U.S. Congress were not and have never been authorized by the Constitution for the United States of America to issue currency of any kind, but only lawful money, - gold and silver coin.

It is essential that we comprehend the distinction between real money, and paper money substitute. One cannot get rich by accumulating money substitutes, one can only get deeper in debt. We the People no longer have any "money." Most Americans have not been paid any "money" for a very long time, perhaps not in their entire life. Now do you comprehend why you feel broke? Now, do you understand why you are "bankrupt," along with the rest of the country?

Federal Reserve Notes (FRN's) are unsigned checks written on a closed account. FRN's are an inflatable paper system designed to create debt through inflation (devaluation of currency). Whenever there is an increase of the supply of a money substitute in the economy without a corresponding increase in the gold and silver backing, inflation occurs.

Inflation is an invisible form of taxation that irresponsible governments inflict on their citizens. The Federal Reserve Bank who controls the supply and movement of FRN's has everybody fooled. They have access to an unlimited supply of FRN's, paying only for the printing costs of what they need. FRN's are nothing more than promissory notes for U.S. Treasury securities (T-Bills) - a promise to pay the debt to the Federal Reserve Bank.

There is a fundamental difference between "paying" and "discharging" a debt. To pay a debt, you must pay with value or substance (i.e. gold, silver, barter or a commodity). With FRN's, you can only discharge a debt. You cannot pay a debt with a debt currency system. You cannot service a debt with a currency that has no backing in value or substance. No contract in common law is valid unless it involves an exchange of "good and valuable consideration." Unpayable debt transfers power and control to the sovereign power structure that has no interest in money, law, equity or justice because they have so much wealth already.

Their lust is for power and control. Since the inception of ceneral banking, they have controlled the fates of nations.

The Federal Reserve System, is based on the Canon law and the principles of soverignty protected in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. In fact, the international bankers used a "Canon Law Trust" as their model, adding stock and naming it a "Joint Stock Trust." The U.S. Congress had passed a law making it illegal for any legal "person" to duplicate a "Joint Stock Trust" in 1873. The Federal Reserve Act was legislated post-facto (1870), although post-facto laws are strictly forbidden by the Constitution. (1:9:3)

The Federal Reserve System is a sovereign power structure separate and distinct from the federal United States government. The Federal Reserve is a maritime lender, and/or maritime insurance underwriter to the federal United States operating exclusively under Admiralty/Maritime law. The lender underwriter bears the risks, and the Maritime law compelling specific performance in paying the interest, or premiums are the same.

Assets of the debtor can also be hypothecated (to pledge something as a security without taking possession of it) as security by the lender or underwriter. The Federal Reserve Act stipulated that the interest on the debt was to be paid in gold. There was no stipulation in the Federal Reserve Act for ever paying the principal.

Prior to 1913, most Americans owned clear, allodial title to property, free and clear of any liens or mortgages until Federal Reserve Act (1913).

"Hypothecated" all property within the federal United States to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, - in which the Trustees (stockholders) held legal title, the U.S. citizen (tenant, franchisee) was registered as a "beneficiary" of the trust via his/her birth certificate. In 1933, the federal United States hypothecated all of the present and future properties, assets and labor of their "subjects," the 14th. Amendment U.S. citizens, to the Federal Reserve System.

In return, the Federal Reserve System agreed to extend the federal United States corporation all the credit "money substitute" it needed. Like any other debtor, the federal United States government had to assign collateral and security to their creditors as condition of the loan. Since the federal United States didn't have any assets, they assigned the private property of their "economic slaves," the U.S. citizens, as collateral against the unpayable federal debt. They also pledge the unincorporated federal territories, national parks forest, birth certificates, and nonprofit organizations, as collateral against the federal debt. All has already been transferred as payment to the international bankers.

Unwittingly, America has returned to its pre-American Revolution, Feudal roots whereby all land is held by a sovereign and the common people had no rights to hold allodial title to property. Once again, We the People are the tenants and sharecroppers renting our own property from a Sovereign in the guise of the Federal Reserve Bank. We the People have exchanged one master for another.

This has been going on for over eighty years without the "informed" knowledge: Of the American people, without a voice protesting loud enough. Now it's easy to grasp why America is fundamentally bankrupt.

Why don't more people own their properties outright?

Why are 90% of Americans mortgaged to the hilt and have little or no assets after all debts and libilities have been paid? Why does it feel like you are working harder and harder and getting less and less?

We are reaping what has been sown, and the result of our harvest is a painful bankruptcy, and a foreclosure on American property, precious liberties, and a way of life. Few of our elected representatives in Washington, D.C. have dared to tell the truth. The federal United States is bankrupt. Our children will inherit this unpayable debt, and the tyranny to enforce paying it.

America has become completely bankrupt in world leadership, financial credit and its reputation for courage, vision and human rights. This is an undeclared economic war. Bankruptcy, and economic slavery of the most corrupt order! Wake up America! Take back your country.

IAHF List: What Follows from the Congressional Record Will Blow Your Mind If It Hasn't Already Been Blown It sure does explain why they're trying so hard to lay a National ID Card and Implanted Chips on Us Useless Eaters. They've regarded us as monetized slaves since '33, and here you hear the truth from Rep. Traficant about the well established fact that the US Govt. ceased to exist on March 9, 1933 with the Emergency Banking Act which declared our government to be bankrupt and insolvent, and thats the exact moment we came under the thumb of the International Monetary Fund, the Banksters, the folks who've monetized our birth certificates as collateral against the debt. We don't have a government, all we have is administrators for the IMF, all we have is tools of the Banksters, and this is why such evil harlots as Schumer, Feinstein, Lautenburg, Boxer et al along with all the criminal Masonic judges are trying so hard to atomize our gun right

Devin Milford=Jim Traficant

The though just occured to me that the character, Devin Milford, in the 1987 television mini-series, AMERIKA, must've been based, to some degree or other, on Jim Traficant.

Look at the FACTS: Milford was from the midwest, he had been a congressman, he ran for president, and he told the TRUTH about what America had become (Amerika), which led to his being thrown in prison.

There's not another political figure in this country that fits that description. :o

Most people don't know it, but Traficant actually did run for president once, back in 1984. (Or was it '88? :? I always get the two mixed up.) He ran for the Populist Party candidacy, but failed to win the nomination.

And there's absolutely no doubt that making statements like the ones you posted on the floor of Congress would result in one getting thrown into a Federal gulag. :x It's only amazing to me that it actually took them NINE YEARS to do it. :(

Frankly, I was AMAZED to see what a firm grasp Mr. Traficant has on the nature of the Conspiracy. :? I knew that he was turning over some rocks, and making the scurrying insects underneath them quite nervous, but I had no idea of the full extent of his knowledge. The guy sure has his proverbial fecal matter together. :)

I may be mistaken, but I don't think even Ron Paul ever had the guts to make a speech like that from the floor of Congress.

I met and talked with him in Hot Springs some years ago, and he seemed very genuine. I know why he is where he is, and it's a crying shame. A few nooses are in order for the traitors.

Great NEWS on the James Traficant front...

set up but not out

Traficant Speaks

If you want to slap Congress in the face and show your
disdain for “politics as usual,” you’ll definitely
want to help get Jim Traficant back in Congress.

Exclusive To American Free Press

By Michael Collins Piper

Down—but definitely not out—Jim Traficant is on the
ballot for the November election as an independent,
challenging the candidates of both major parties.

Polls in his home base in eastern Ohio show that
Traficant leads his closest competitor by a two-to-one

Traficant has a special message to AFP readers: “The
readers of American Free Press should know about those
polls that show that I can get elected and that I have
a lot of support out here. I think I can be—and I want
to be—the first American ever elected to Congress from
a prison cell.”

The ex-congressman believes that his re-election—even
while sitting in a federal prison—would send a message
loud and strong that citizens are fed up with
government misdeeds and all-around disdain for the
hard-working productive people of middle America.

“People fear the government and no one should fear the
government,” said Traficant. “And when you start
fearing your government, you end up hating your
government. America is building a hell of a problem
and it has got to be changed.”

A lot of people have asked how they can help
Traficant. Traficant tells AFP’s readers bluntly and
directly: “I need some campaign money. I’m ahead 2-1
in the polls, but the local press and the national
media are desperate. They’re just beating me down.”

The media is repeatedly suggesting that if Traficant
is sent to a federal prison outside his home state he
will not be eligible to seek office from Ohio. This is
not necessarily the case.

Traficant told AFP that “I think they are working to
try to keep me off the ballot, but I don’t think they
can. The Constitution says that you must be an
inhabitant of the state. The town that I returned to,
when I left Washington, is in Ohio. That’s where I’m
an inhabitant.”

Traficant’s attorneys intend to raise all legal
questions pertinent to the matter if Traficant is
permanently placed in a prison outside Ohio.

In the meantime, however, even Traficant’s Republican
opponent, Anne Benjamin admitted to The Cleve land
Plain Dealer that she understands from Ohio state
election officials that Traficant is eligible to run
from an out-of-state prison.

About the role the FBI and the Justice Department
played in his prosecution, Traficant commented
succintly: “They pressured people to lie like you
can’t believe. There’s no physical evidence. Not one
bit of corroboration. Not one fingerprint. Nothing.”

On April 15, May 6, Aug. 5, and Aug. 12 AFP reported
specifics regarding Traficant’s case, demonstrating
how the federal assault upon the congressman was a
classic frame-up of the worst sort.

Traficant summarized the fashion in which Judge Lesley
Wells handled his case.

I wasn’t allowed to bring any evidence. The judge
didn’t allow me to bring nine witnesses before the
jury. But she made them testify before her, with the
jury out of the room.

The judge didn’t allow me to introduce 10 tapes that
provided evidence of my innocence. She kept those
tapes away from the jury. She tied my hands behind my
back. But to tell you the truth, I damned near beat
her and the prosecutors without that evidence.

They had to get rid of me. [One witness] Richard
Detore described how the federal prosecutors brought
up Janet Reno to him [and pointed out how Traficant
had criticized her].

I’m the only one that went after Janet Reno. The
Republicans wanted free trade with China and the
Democrats didn’t want Clinton to get hurt. So I was
the only one going after Reno and she went after me
like a ton of bricks.

Traficant elaborated on some of the controversial
stands that he took while serving in Congress:

Why are they so afraid to death of me? I’m the only
one that’s talking about trade, talking about giving
away the country, about China and about China slipping
in money to the U.S. government and the politicians
are getting away with it. Our borders are wide open
and then they talk about terrorists and narcotics
coming across.

“My issues,” Traficant said, “are not popular with the
government but they are with the people.”

Traficant is particularly proud of his work in
reforming the tax laws, especially those governing the
IRS and its relationship with the taxpayers:

I’m the one that passed the law that says a citizen
can sue the IRS for $1 million if they abuse you.
That’s one of my laws. Secondly, I changed the law
regarding burden of proof in a civil tax case. You
used to be considered guilty and had to prove yourself
innocent. The third thing is that under one of my IRS
reforms, the IRS can no longer seize your property
without a court order.

However, Traficant has a lot more in mind: “When I get
back into Congress—and I can do it with the help of
people around the country—I’m going to introduce a
bill to eliminate the IRS and create a 15 percent
national retail sales tax, exempt everybody at the
poverty level. Everybody else would pay the sales tax.

“The fact is,” says Traficant, “There’s no freedom in
America. That’s a joke. You are born into a limited
partnership with the Internal Revenue Service. I want
that to be quoted.”

In reference to his sales tax proposal, he points out:

Harvard has done a study saying that, with a sales
tax, prices won’t even increase because the tax code
is what’s putting all the costs on American products
in the first place.

Ninety percent of all retail sales taxes are collected
by nine percent of retailers. My proposal would even
exempt yard sales up to $10,000 for individuals.

I want to put a five percent tariff on the imported
goods from any country that has a lower standard of
living than the United States or any country which
keeps our products out. China, for example, has a 17
cents an hour labor wage. Japan doesn’t let our
products in. I want that 5 percent and then we can
take away FICA.

This way American companies will move back to America.
You can’t blame American companies for leaving with
the oppressive tax code that we’ve got.

Traficant also intends to continue working for reform
of the federal law enforcement system that has put him
in federal prison and which has been responsible for
travesties such as Waco and Ruby Ridge:

As for the FBI and the Justice Department, I’m going
to put in legislation to have an independent agency,
appointed by the president for 10 years and approved
by the Senate. Their job will be nothing but to
investigate the serious cases like Waco, Ruby
Ridge—cases like that. Right now the Justice
Department has its own Office of Professional
Responsibility, but that’s nothing more than “damage
control” for the Justice Department.

Traficant has an explanation for the unusually close
relationship between federal judges and the FBI and
the Justice Department:

“Remember, these judges are afraid of the FBI and the
IRS. The reason is this: Although Congress can impeach
federal judges, it is not Congress that investigates
these federal judges before they are appointed. It is
the FBI and the IRS that does it. And it’s the FBI and
the IRS that brings all of these cases to the federal
judges and they do what the FBI and the IRS want them
to do. So they’re all against me.”

As for Judge Wells, “The judge’s husband is an
attorney for Squires, Sanders & Dempsey in Cleveland.
That firm handled business for the firm of John Cafaro
who was a key government witness against me. Judge
Wells shouldn’t have even been the judge in my case.
That’s a Hell of a story in itself.”

Although the judge refused to allow Traficant to
remain free on bail and refused to grant him a new
trial, Traficant is appealing his conviction before
the Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Whatever the result of the appeal, Traficant remains
committed to winning re-election. With the support of
the people who believe in him—and there are many—he
may do it.
