From a friend:
This is a really neat tool I just ran across (it was posted on slashdot). Metropipe's Virtaul Private Machine. It's a little pc emulator tool, qemu, and a very small linux installation built for it. All adds up to about 122M, which means it'll fit just on a 128M flash drive and easily on a 256. Pop it into the USB on an untrusted machine, boot up the emulator, and you have Firefox for a browser, Thunderbird for mail, and it looks like a lot of other good stuff, too. Because you're running in an emulator, no data is left behind on the physical PC you're using... all temp files, etc are kept in the virtual machine on your USB drive.
It won't be able to do anything about keystroke loggers, since those happen inside the "host" windows OS, but you won't leave any temp files, cookies, cache, etc. behind. Very cool.
